Essential Oil is great mindset support for moms who may be feeling a little blue. 

It is said that 1 in 8 women suffer from postpartum depression.  Self-care for moms can play a vital role in their overall well-being. 

You can diffuse, apply topically with a carrier oil or you can do the inhalation method.  

Lavender 15ml (.5oz)

Plant Part: Flowering Top

Method: Steam Distilled

Aroma: Soft, Sweet, Floral

Blends well with: Frankincense, Clary Sage, Peppermint, Fennel, Rosemary

Cautions: Always dilute with a carrier oil when applying to the skin.  Keep out of reach of children. Consult your physician before use if pregnant. External use only.

Common Use: Dilute 3-5 drops in 1 oz of carrier oil (almond or coconut) when applying topically. In your diffuser of choice, add 2-3 drops.

Description: Lavender essential oil is known as a relaxation oil.  For centuries it has been used to calm and soothe emotions.  It is the go-to for burns, abrasions, etc., and is often used as a nighttime remedy to help promote a night of restful sleep.  Night room spray suggestion:  20 drops of Lavender 

Orange 15ml (.5oz)

Plant Part: Peel

Method: Cold Pressed

Aroma: Fresh, Citrusy, Sweet

Blends well with: Bergamot, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Juniper, Lemon

Cautions: Will cause photosensitivity. Always dilute with a carrier oil when applying to the skin.  Keep out of reach of children. Consult your physician before use if pregnant. External use only.

Common Use: Dilute 3-5 drops in 1 oz of carrier oil (almond or coconut) when applying topically. In your diffuser of choice, add 2-3 drops.

Description: Orange essential oil is another very versatile oil.  Often used in aromatic medicine as a mood stabilizer. In young children, it can be used to dismiss scary dreams. It is also used for various household cleaning solutions and is the go-to that will remove dirt and grime. Do a test patch first before using it on any surface.   

To remove grime and gum residue first do a patch test and then take 3-4 drops on the dirty area and use appropriate removal tools to clean up the mess.  To enhance your child's mood after a long day of school add 3 drops to the diffuser five minutes before they arrive home to their safe space. 

Peppermint 15ml (.5oz)

Method: Steam Distilled

Aroma: Minty, Herbaceous, Refreshing

Blends well with: Basil, Lemon, Lavender, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree

Description: Peppermint essential oil is used both by western and eastern medical providers. It has stimulating properties through aroma; it's very sharp and has an energizing effect when inhaled. It is also stimulating to the skin with its high menthol content.  When muscles are sore, tired, or strained it can provide relief to aches and pains. Studies have shown peppermint to also work as a headache relief, and for centuries it has been used to alleviate tummy aches. Peppermint is also opening to clogged sinuses. Has been known to have an energizing effect on the mind, body, and soul.

Some have even claimed that planting peppermint plants around your yard will deter mice and other pests as they dislike the aroma.
